Once you have narrowed down your choices from the tone map, we always recommend testing the shades. <strong>on the location itself (in situ)<\/strong>, to make sure you choose a color that naturally &quot;fits&quot; into your interior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether the space is constantly filled with natural light or the light changes significantly throughout the day, the orientation of each room should be considered separately \u2014 to choose a shade that best complements the space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>South-facing rooms <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>South-facing rooms typically have warmer light, so colors can often appear more yellow (warmer) than they look on a sample or in a store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rooms facing north <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Colors in north-facing rooms often appear colder and &quot;flatter&quot; (less vibrant) than when lit by direct natural light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rooms facing west <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Natural light in west- and east-facing rooms changes dramatically throughout the day, so the function of the room is an important factor. Take advantage of the changing light by varying the strength of the hues within a neutral palette. The \u201eColour Scales\u201c families offer four strengths of the same pigment, which can be combined for a harmonious look. For a stronger effect, use bold accent colors on architectural details or woodwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rooms facing east <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If your bedroom or, for example, your kitchen faces east, use morning light with a more pronounced or \u201ebright\u201c hue for an energetic start to the day.
